The Rockies are well known for picking the player that they feel has the most talent, rather than a player for a particular position. They also generally select a college player, as opposed to the more risky high school picks.
The left-handed pitcher is 6'4" and weighs 215 lbs. He hales from Las Vegas, NV, where he was originally drafted out of high school in the 50th round.
Anderson is the first Oregon Duck to be named first-team All Pac-10 since the program was recreated in 2007.
