BREAKING NEWS: Colorado Rockies to sign sandwich pick Trevor Story

Trevor Story, the Colorado Rockies sandwich pick in the 2011 MLB draft, will sign a contract to play with the club on Tuesday, RockiesReview.com has learned.

Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.

Story was the 45th overall pick in this year's draft. The Rockies owned the pick due to "Type-B" free agent relief pitcher Ocatvio Dotel signing with the Blue Jays in the offseason.

The high schooler is from Irving, TX. He is a 6'0" 175 lbs, and plays shortstop. Scouts praise Story's glove, but his bat speed remains a question mark.

He had signed a letter of intent to play at Louisiana State University, but will obviously forgo college baseball to join the Rockies organization.
